"...My parents were financially strapped in
those years because they had 7 children...They
could not afford much. With the Pullman [Scholarship] and
part-time jobs, I had an excellent start on my

Pullman Scholarships...

The George M. Pullman Educational Foundation maintains different types of scholarship programs, each designed to meet the needs of a specific group of college-bound students in Cook County.  Each year, the Foundation provides financial assistance to students who are: First Year Candidates (high school seniors entering college), Renewing Students (Pullman Scholars continuing in college), and recipients of the Florence Lowden Miller Educational Grants.
